I spent over twenty years running the operations side of medical practices. In a previous role, one generating over $8 million a year, I ran the books and cut outstanding accounts receivable by more than half. In another role, running a specialty practice with four locations, I found where patients were getting stuck waiting on test results, fixed it, and watched revenue and patient satisfaction go up together. I've also opened a new clinic location on a two-month deadline while making sure both W-2 and 1099 staff were paid on time. My MBA in Healthcare Management gave me the framework. My years in the Air Force as medical aircrew gave me the discipline to actually use it under pressure.
Somewhere along the way, finding what the numbers were actually hiding became the part of the job I liked most. That's what I still do, just for business owners now instead of clinics. I find where the money gets stuck and fix it. I partner with tax professionals too, so your numbers move smoothly from my desk to theirs.
When I'm not balancing the books, you'll find me with horses, hiking with friends, or on the road somewhere new. Home for me is family, friends, and my two dogs who keep me honest about how much time I actually spend at my desk.
